Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian music writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is released in May of 2015 from Decca Records. It has received high praise from the music press and bloggers. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, was released for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of her most well-known recordings. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard within her loft and being amazed by the music. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to take up music more as a hobby as a career. In order to do so, she began writing original compositions. Alongside Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. After her mother said that the songs she composed could be used to not make her famous but instead to inspire people to realize their own value and impact to our world at large, she began performing them publicly. As a young girl she started playing the piano. At age nine, she, started writing songs. The family members didn't know about her music until she reached fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of being famous. As she says, she loves writing music. To her music, is the best means of communicating anything.
